To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook matar appe using 12 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Matar Appe:
  1. Get superfine rava
  2. Make ready dahi/ curd
  3. Make ready black pepper powder
  4. Make ready Fresh green peas
  5. Prepare green chillies
  6. Take jeera/ cumin seeds
  7. Get spring onion greens
  8. Make ready coriander lvaves
  9. Make ready Salt
  10. Prepare lemon Juice
  11. Get baking soda or eno fruit salt
  12. Prepare oil
Instructions to make Matar Appe:
  1. To a cup of rava add the dahi and 4 TSP of water and whisk for a minute. Add more water if the batter isn't a bit wet leave this for half an hour for the rava to fluff up. Add a bit of salt and black pepper powder
  2. Meantime, blitz up peas, chilli, spring onion green, jeera and salt to a coarse paste. Looks a beautiful green
  3. Make small balls of the matar paste and keep ready.
  4. After half hour, whisk the rava batter and add some water so it is a bit wet and drops off the spoon.
  5. Put the appe girdle on gas and fill each of the holes with some oil and add some torn curry leaves and mustard seeds in each.
  6. Add 1/2 TSP of baking soda or eno to the Rava batter just before using it. Give it a quick mix and start adding a teaspoonful of the rava batter into each of the holes.
  7. Once completed, add and press a small pea ball into each of the holes and then cover them with some more rava batter. Put a lid and let it cook on a low flame.
  8. After 5 mins take a look and once browned on one side, flip and cook it on the other side. Add some more oil if you think it would need it.
  9. I used a non-stick appe tawa and hence didn't need a lot of oil. Also it cooked quite fast and with the measurements I made about 12 good sized appe.
  10. Serve it with coconut chutney, Pudina chutney or tomato ketchup. Serve hot with some adrak wali chai and it would need nothing more.
